My Favorite Things: Adorn Boutique

IMG_4384-2.jpg

I am in love. With Adorn Boutique. This little boutique in the heart of Inglewood carries the cutest clothing and accessories. The boutique's collection is carefully curated from a selection of designers in Australia, North America and Europe. I fell in love with owner and curator Kari's store during a Boutique in the Burbs event, which was coordinated by my friend Kimberly. (P.S. Look for her new store in SE Calgary opening soon!). After Kimberly took the group through the do's and don'ts of summer style, she turned us loose on racks of clothing and accessories Kari brought with her. I walked away with three incredible pieces, and thus began my love affair with Adorn Boutique.

Classic and pretty, every piece is as unique as the woman wearing it. I love walking into the store and finding something truly beautiful every time. Now that I have quite the collection of pieces from Adorn, I wanted to do another post about my favorite things. Here are six pieces that I can't get enough of. If you are in the Calgary area, I highly encourage you to check out the store. You might walk away with a new pair of killer jeans and a little more sparkle in your day.

Second to workout clothes, I could wear jeans every day. However, because of wide hips and short legs, there are very few stores that I can go to and find a pair that fit perfectly every time. Jeans are either too short or too tight. But I am so happy to say that I have found a designer who makes jeans I can wear!

The two pairs of jeans in these photos are from Part Two, a Danish designer who creates clothing for women who want to look AND feel great. Both pairs are a bit tight when you wear them after the first wash, but that's completely normal. They stretch out after a couple days. I love the fit of these jeans. They are fitted in the waist through the calf (on me) and fall slightly away from the ankle. This makes it super easy to cuff the jeans beautifully.

I paired the darker wash with three different tops. The first one is one of my favorite shirts. This t-shirt is not from Adorn, but rather from NG by Natalie Grant. I first saw this shirt posted on Instagram, and I love the message: Hustle Less. Love More. I'm a fan of the hustle. It's opened some very interesting opportunities for me.  However, the entire line is designed to encourage women to make a statement with fashion, to not only remind ourselves to live a life of love, but share that message with everyone we meet. And a portion of every sale goes to support Hope for Justice, an organization dedicated to fighting human trafficking. Find more about what they do here.

The second top is one of the most unique pieces I own. I fell in love with it at first sight. I love the lace details and the off the shoulder fit. It's perfect for hanging out and exploring the city and getting dressed up and owning the night. I wore this top to the Zac Brown Band concert, and it was super comfortable to dance and move in. I completed the look with my favorite black sandals from Old Navy.

The third pairing is a slightly cropped patterned top from Nice Things, a wonderful family business in Barcelona. It is perfect summer top: it's bright, cool and effortless. It has a classic shape and a gorgeous pattern that can be worn in many ways. I paired it with my pink and gold necklace from Salt Water Tea.

I paired the lighter wash jeans with a classic white t-shirt and fun white kimono.

Loose and airy pieces speak to my boho heart. And you can't go wrong with a basic white tee. I love this super comfy piece from Gentlefawn. It's soft to the touch, moves well, fits perfectly and pairs with everything in my closet. Win! This look is completed with a gold chain necklace from NG by Natalie Grant and black sandals from Old Navy.

The second look I created with the lighter wash jeans is a simple black tank with the kimono from Soya Concept. This Danish designer focuses on affordable style with quality, simplicity and personality. The tassels light up my bohemian side and I love the light and airy feel. It's a perfect cover up for those casual, chill days. I added the NG by Natalie Grant necklace and the Old Navy sandals complete the look.

So that's my Adorn collection so far. It won't be long before I need to update this post with a new set of my favorite things. Aside from providing incredibly cute and high quality clothing and accessories, shopping at Adorn has shifted my focus from quantity to quality. You'll find that these pieces are higher priced, but are incredibly affordable for the quality. I have made fewer trips to the mall because I now have a growing collection of beautiful pieces that will last a long time.

Be sure to visit Adorn Boutique next time you find yourself in Inglewood. You won't be disappointed.
